Automatic Sync
One of Feature It’s most powerful features is automatic sync. When you edit an ingredient, every product that uses it is updated automatically — no matter how many products that is.
How it works
Your ingredients are stored centrally in your ingredient library. When you assign an ingredient to a product, Feature It connects that product to the ingredient rather than copying the ingredient’s data onto the product.
This means when you edit the ingredient — changing its description, uploading a new image, updating the subtitle — Feature It automatically pushes those changes to all connected products at once. From a single edit, dozens or hundreds of product pages can update simultaneously.
What triggers an automatic sync
- Editing an ingredient’s title, description, subtitle, or image
- Reordering ingredients (position changes propagate to all products)
- Deleting an ingredient (it is removed from all products automatically)
How long does it take?
Updates happen in parallel across all affected products. In practice, even if an ingredient is used by 50 products, the sync typically completes within 2–3 seconds. You’ll see a success message once it’s done.
A practical example
Say you sell skincare products and you have “Shea Butter” assigned to 30 products. You’ve just sourced a certified organic supplier and want to update the description to reflect this.
- Go to Ingredients and find Shea Butter
- Click Edit and update the description
- Click Save
Feature It finds all 30 products using Shea Butter and updates them in the background. Within a few seconds, every product page on your storefront shows the updated description — without you touching a single product individually.
Why this matters
Without automatic sync, updating ingredient information across a large catalogue would mean editing each product one by one. Feature It eliminates that entirely. Your ingredient library is your single source of truth, and your storefront always reflects it.
